Abstract

The integration of technology, pedagogy, and content in the learning process provides a new framework for teachers to improve learning processes and outcomes. This study aims to determine the extent of the implementation of TPACK by English teachers at MTs Muhammadiyah Bulek and also to find out the obstacles to implementing TPACK in English Classes at MTs Muhammadiyah Bulek. The type of research method used is descriptive qualitative with interview data collection techniques, checklist observations, and field notes. The subjects of this study were two English teachers who teach in grades VIII.1 and VIII.2 at MTs Muhammadiyah Batu Bulek school in West Sumatra. The results of this study indicate that in general English teachers who teach in grades VIII.1 and VIII.2 understand the use of technology, but English teachers are still not able to apply the use of technology in the teaching and learning process on a regular basis. Aspects of TPACK in the teaching and learning process carried out by English teachers in grades VIII.1 and VIII.2 have not been fully implemented. The application of technology contained in the TPACK aspect is only partially fulfilled by T2 or English teachers who teach in class VIII.2. This is because of the obstacles experienced by English teachers at MTs Muhammadiyah who teach in grades VIII.1 and VIII.2.
