Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the English Comic Webtoon on the second-grade students' reading comprehension skills at SMPN 18 Kota Bengkulu. This research is quantitative research conducted using a quasi-experimental design method using a sample of two classes, the subjects of this research were 50 students, namely Class VIII 1 as the control class and Class VIII 4 as the Experiment class. The results of the analysis in the experimental class showed that the average post�test score (77.12) was higher than the average pre-test score (66.96). So Ha accepted it. This means that English Comic Webtoon can improve students' reading skill achievement after being given treatment. Next, the researcher calculated a score of sig = 0.000 < a 0.05. So, Ha accepted it. H means that there is a significant increase in reading comprehension achievement between students who are taught using English webtoon comics and those who are not.
