Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a significant effect of using the OME TV application on students' speaking abilities. This study used a quasiexperimental non-equivalent design. The population in this study were 2nd semester students of English Tadris Study Program, UINFAS Bengkulu. The sample consisted of 23 students in class 2D as the experimental class and 19 students in class 2A as the control class. The experimental class is taught using the OME TV application and the control class is taught using conventional methods. The instrument used in this study is the Essay Test as pretest and posttest. The results showed that there was a difference in the score of students' postets score outcomes is 87,2 for the experimental class, and 83,9 for the control class. Data analysis used independent sample t-test. The sign value (2-tailed) is 0.003 < 0.05. Based on these results it can be concluded that the Null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Based on the findings obtained, the results of students' English learning in the experimental class were higher than those in the control class.So it can be concluded that the use of the OME TV application has a significant effect on students' speaking abilities.
