Abstract
This study examines the effect of using cartoon movies as a teaching medium on students’ vocabulary mastery. A quasiexperimental design was employed, involving 40 seventh-grade students from MTSN 5 Kaur, who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught using cartoon movies, while the control group received conventional vocabulary instruction. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests and analyzed using SPSS 26. The results showed that the experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery compared to the control group. Statistical analysis confirmed that integrating cartoon movies into vocabulary instruction effectively enhances students’ vocabulary acquisition. Furthermore, the use of audiovisual media made the learning process more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable for students, which contributed to better retention and comprehension. This study highlights the importance of incorporating multimedia resources in language learning to optimize students’ vocabulary development and overall language proficiency.
