Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a community service program based on local needs through a participatory approach. This community service program was implemented in Malakoni Village, Enggano District, North Bengkulu Regency, as part of the Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities of students. The research methods used were field observation and informal interviews with local community leaders to identify problems and formulate work programs. The results of the study showed several main needs of the community, namely the absence of official nameplates for village officials and religious leaders, lack of support for non-formal education for children, and minimal collective celebrations of Islamic holidays. Based on these findings, three main activities were carried out: making nameplates for community leaders, teaching general lessons and reading the Qur'an for children, and organizing a Nuzulul Qur'an commemoration event. These activities were carried out in a participatory manner by directly involving the community. The results of the activities showed increased visibility and recognition of community leaders, increased literacy and Qur'an reading skills in children, and increased spiritual involvement of residents during the month of Ramadan.
