Abstract

Education is important for children, as well as English language education. But it is very unfortunate, when the times are getting more advanced, education seems to have no change, this is caused by many factors. This research departs from the problems that exist at SDN 110 Bengkulu Utara, namely students whose scores tend to be low in English subjects, researchers try to provide alternatives by doing learning using flashcard media. The purpose of this study is that it is hoped that with the new color in the learning process, it can also improve student memory, thus having an impact on improving student learning outcomes. This research is a classroom action research with a qualitative approach, data collection techniques by conducting interviews with English teachers at SDN 110 Bengkulu Utara and using multiple-choice questions to find out the changes that occur after the use of flashcard media in learning. The results of test research prove that the result obtained is that children's memory is proven to increase, this is evidenced by the increase in student results when answering pre-test and post-test questions With an average pre-test score of 71.38, then the average post test cycle 1 is 86, followed by the average post test cycle 2 score is 91 and the last is cycle 3 with 95 average in post test. Grades that always increase prove and show that the use of flashcard media can improve student memory.
