Abstract

This thesis entitled At-Tibāq in Surah Ash-Shura (A Balāghiyah Badī„iyah Analysis) aims to examine the forms of tibāq and its types found in Surah Ash-Shura in the Qur'an. In general, tibāq is frequently found throughout the Qur'an. However, the researcher selected Surah Ash-Shura as the object of this study due to its distinctive features in terms of meaning and linguistic beauty, particularly in its rhetorical aspects. This study applies the theory proposed by Ali al-Jārim and Mustafa Amin in the field of balāghah, specifically within the branch of „ilm al-badī„ which discusses tibāq. Tibāq is a rhetorical device that brings together two words with opposite meanings within the same context. Tibāq is divided into two types: tibāq ijāb (affirmative antithesis) and tibāq salab (negative antithesis). Balāghah itself is a discipline concerned with the arrangement of sentences in terms of both meaning and aesthetic expression, and it plays a significant role in Arabic literary studies. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. The data consist of verses in Surah Ash-Shura that contain elements of tibāq. The primary source of data is the Qur'an. The findings of this study reveal that there are 16 verses in Surah Ash-Shura containing tibāq ijāb.
