Abstract

This research aimed to develop paragraph writing materials integrating religious moderation values for second semester students of the English Education Study Program at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method involving needs analysis, material design, development, expert validation, revision, and evaluation. However, this research was limited to the development stage, including expert validation. The needs analysis revealed that students faced difficulties in organizing ideas, maintaining paragraph coherence, applying appropriate grammar, and expressing ideas confidently in academic writing. The findings indicated that students needed contextual paragraph writing materials integrating religious moderation values, including tolerance, balance, justice, and respect for diversity, to promote multicultural awareness. The developed materials consisted of learning objectives, writing concepts, contextual examples, guided writing activities, independent writing tasks, reflection, and assessments. Expert validation in material content, language, instructional design, and religious moderation 15 integration showed a high level of validity, indicating that the materials were appropriate for paragraph writing instruction. The developed materials are expected to improve students‘ writing competence while fostering multicultural awareness and positive character development.
