Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out whether students' writing skills in learning English achieved a score after using the BBCT strategy or not. The design used this study was a quasi�experimental design. The samples taken in this study were two classes from the eighth grade at SMPN 18 Bengkulu City. The instruments of this research were writing test and documentation. The findings showed that there is an effect of the use Beyond Centers and Circles Time toward the students’ writing skill at VIII Grade of SMPN 18 Kota Bengkulu with the the t-count of posttest = 2,513 > t-table with the sig. (2-tailed) = 0,015< 0,05. The improvement of students’ writing ability after being taught using BCCT strategy maybe caused by the implementation of BCCT strategy which stimulated the students actively to engage in learning activities, with an emphasis on exploration. 3. More research studies with EFL readers should be executed to further investigate the effectiveness of Beyond Centers and Circles Time in other English skills, such as; listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary, and grammar with bigger size of sample and any level of school.
