Abstract
Learning style is an important aspect that needs to be considered when learning to speak English. Learning to speak English is something that needs to be learned in the current era because English is an international language that is used by people from all over the world to communicate with each other, therefore students need a suitable learning style to be able to learn it efficiently. There are many types of learning styles that each student can use, such as audio, visual and kinesthetic. To see which learning style is the most effective and widely used by female students at SMAN 06 Seluma tenth grade science, researchers interviewed higher achieving students to find out this. Many students at these schools have not found a learning style that suits them and as a result the learning process will not run effectively, especially in learning English. Researchers use qualitative descriptive methods, the techniques used by researchers to collect data are observation, interviews and documentation. As a result, researchers found that there were 9 students who had a visual learning style. 7 students have an auditory learning style and 4 students have a kinesthetic learning style. However, among audio, visual and kinesthetic learning styles, researchers also discovered the fact that they also sometimes combine one learning style with another, such as visual combined with kinesthetic. Learning without practice is a necessity, especially in learning languages, especially speaking. The benefit of this research is to provide other students with knowledge about what kind of learning styles they can use in the learning process and for teachers to also be able to design what kind of learning methods they will use when teaching in class, especially in learning to speak English.
