Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Syarafal Anam art in building the personal social character of adolescents in Tengah Padang Village, Central Bengkulu Regency. The background of the study is based on the importance of forming adolescent character amidst the challenges of modern development through an Islamic cultural and artistic approach that is full of religious and social values. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field research type. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation with informants of adolescent members of Syarafal Anam, trainers, and community leaders. Data analysis was carried out descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and its validity was tested by triangulation of sources, methods, and theories. The results of the study show that first, Syarafal Anam art contains Islamic values in the form of faith, worship, and morals, second, the method in developing the character of adolescents in the Syarafal Anam group is the method of singing (poetry), lectures and discussions and third, the personal social character of adolescents in the Syarafal Anam group has characters such as empathy, cooperation and responsibility. Thus, Syarafal Anam plays an effective role in building adolescent character based on Islamic culture and values.
