Abstract

The research in this thesis is motivated by the importance of learning styles in teaching and learning activities. In this thesis only compares 2 learning styles, namely visual and kinesthetic. However, of the two learning styles, only one learning style dominates each individual. In this case the researcher wanted to know how far the influence of learning styles consisting of visual learning styles and kinesthetic learning styles on the learning outcomes of MAN 1 Bengkulu City students in English subjects. In this research design, researchers used a quantitative approach (ex post facto research). all students of MAN 1 Bengkulu City class XI amounted to 120 students. The sample in this study amounted to 30 students. The instrument of this research is a questionnaire. Researchers used regression analysis to determine the effect of visual and kinesthetic learning styles individually on learning achievement. After doing a simple linear regression test. Based on the table above, a significance value of 0.117 is obtained while the probability value is 0.05, so the comparison is 0.117 > 0.05 meaning that Ha is rejected while Ho is accepted. So it can be interpreted that there is no influence between learning styles on learning achievement. This means "learning style does not affect student achievement in MAN 1 Bengkulu City".
