Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of using the visual swing skipping technique on students' reading comprehension. The population of this study were students of class X SMKN 2 Seluma, with a sample of 39 students who were selected using a purposive sampling technique, which were classified into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The research design used was quasi�experimental and the main instrument in this study was the test. Data from initial scores and final scores were analyzed using the t test conducted in SPSS 26. The results of this study showed a significant difference in the final average scores between classes, from the experimental class was 1,601, while the control's final average score was 550. The hypothesis test shows that sig.2 tailed (p) is 0.015 with alpha (a) is 0.05, so 0.015 < 0.05. it can be stated that HO (null hypothesis) has been rejected and Ha (alternative hypothesis) has been accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the visual swing skipping technique has affected the reading comprehension of students in class X SMK 2 Seluma towards reading comprehension in English lessons for the 2022/2023 academic year.
