Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the readiness of English teachers in implementing the merdeka curriculum, and to find out what challenges English teachers face in implementing the merdeka curriculum at MTs Ja al-haq in bengkulu city. the subjects of this study were two English teachers. This research is using qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. The interview used by researcher is a structured interview. Researcher used a list of interview questions and observation checklists to collect data. The data was then analyzed through 4 stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that with the training held by the school for teachers, especially English teachers, it can help English teachers in learning the merdeka curriculum, with this training the school and its teachers, especially English teachers, are ready to implement the merdeka curriculum. Although there are several factors that are still less supportive, such as infrastructure, namely infocus, which is still limited in use, it is not an obstacle for schools and teachers in implementing an merdeka curriculum. For this reason, schools must further complete the infrastructure so that the learning process can run better and can fully support the implementation of the merdeka curriculum
