Abstract

The objectives of this research is to find out whether the graphic organizer technique of learning has an effect on students writing ability. ThereforeThe main purpose of this study was to determine if the use of graphic organizer techniques was successful in increasing students' ability to write narrative text. In this study, a pretest-posttest design with non-equivalent groups was adopted. The population consisted of 43 tenth grade students from SMAN 6 Bengkulu Tengah in the academic year 2023/2024. Out of this population, There were two groups with 15 in each. The write narrative test was used to get the data. The t-test procedure was used to assess the collected data. The results demonstrated that the use of graphic organizers helped students write narrative texts more successfully. The study's findings demonstrated that the experimental group scored an average of 67.33 on the pre-test and 79.00 on the post-test. The average pretest score and post-test score for the control group were 66.33 and 74.00, respectively. The significance value for the hypothesis is 0.04 <0.05. From these results it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the learning outcomes of class x students after being taught using the graphic organizer method in learning to write narrative text.
