Abstract
This research aims to understand teachers' strategies in reducing students' anxiety in speaking skills through outdoor learning activities. The qualitative method is used in this research. The population of this study is the English teachers at SMP IT Khairunnas with a sample size of 2 individuals. The findings indicate that there are two strategies employed by teachers to reduce students' anxiety in speaking skills: vocabulary input and video assignments. However, the students' vocabulary remains significantly lacking. Through vocabulary input, students can expand their word bank, reducing anxiety when speaking English due to a lack of vocabulary. Students who lack confidence in presenting in front of the class are tasked with creating videos, enabling them to perform as well as possible. Teachers provide outdoor learning activities to alleviate students' anxiety in speaking English by tailoring the teaching to their needs and conditions, utilizing teaching media appropriate to their needs and abilities. Through methods like field trips and storytelling, teachers successfully diminish students' anxiety in speaking English.
