Abstract

The purpose of this study is to depict the utilization of scientific methods in classroom management by lower-level students at SD Negeri 78 Betungan, Bengkulu City, particularly during thematic studies. Students and instructors from grades I–3 at SD Negeri 78 Betungan, Bengkulu City, participated in this qualitative descriptive research. The primary focus of the research is on activities that showcase how the school has incorporated a scientific perspective into its pedagogical methods. Observation, interviews, and documentation were employed as data collection methods, while data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification were used to assess the data. Triangulation of sources and methods was implemented to enhance the robustness of the data and ensure its authenticity. The results indicate that SD Negeri 78 Betungan, Bengkulu City, has effectively managed lower classes (Classes 1-3) using a scientific learning approach. Although there are opportunities for improvement in conditioning and students' actions during the learning process, the instructors have adeptly utilized the activity phases with a scientific approach in the classroom. Motivation, while playing a small part in the learning activities, is provided to students at SD Negeri 78, who are guided and assisted by their instructors in class management.
