Abstract

Vocabulary is now well recognized as an important focus in language teaching and learning. It means that the vocabulary is very important to be learnt by the students who want to master a language. English vocabulary as one of the language skill elements has an important role for young learners in learning foreign language. This study aims to describe the strategies of English teacher's strategy in teaching and facilitating the students in learning English vocabularies and to explore the obstacles faced by English teachers in teaching and facilitating the students in learning English vocabularies at SDIT Rabbi Radhiyya 02 Rejang Lebong academic year 2024/2025. The results of this study show that there are several strategies that used by the English teachers‟ strategies in teaching English vocabulary for young learners at V grade students, namely: a) conveying two ways communication with the students, b) Establishing good educational setting for young learners, c) implementing role play activity in learning process based on actual situation. d) Facilitating communication among students (peer students feedback). Secondly, there were several problems that faced by the teacher in teaching English vocabulary for young learners at V grade students, namely: a) Differences in ability level, b) Limited use of English outside the classroom, c) Lack of Visual Aids or Resources. In conclusion, there are still many teachers who do not understand correctly about how to teach English vocabulary for young learners, then it should be done first such as training, practice and direct outreach against teachers competences in strategies. This training will later improve the skills and understanding of teachers about how to teach English vocabulary for young learners
